Silver Map

Silver Map, Art workshop with Kaohsiung Municipal Kaohsiung Girls’ Senior High School, Pier-2 Art Center, Taiwan 2019

A collaborative project inspired by the unique architecture of Kaohsiung city which is reflected through a contemporary way by installing a map of silver paper. Local children encouraged to bring tools representing important aspects of their cultural heritage. During the workshop, they covered the surfaces of the tools with aluminum foil by applying pressure and through drawing, they record the shapes to form visible space memory. Paper formations are tied together while we communicate with each other. The silver color symbolizes the diverse cultural richness that reflects a picture of connection and development towards the future.
